Areas and valleys
The Sobrarbe region is located in the northern area of the Huesca district, bordering to the north with France, to the east with the Ribagorza region through the Troncedo, Campanué and Ferrera Mountain Chain, to the south with the Somontano region through the Arbe mountain chain and to the west with the Serrablo, of the Alto Gállego region, through the Cotefablo and the Guarguera mountain pass.
Sobrarbe expands over 2,202 square kilometres, in which several areas can be distinguished: the valleys of the rivers Ara, Cinca and Cinqueta. It is formed by 19 municipalities: Abizanda, Ainsa-Sobrarbe, báscabo, Bielsa, Boltaña,Broto, El Pueyo de Araguás, Fanlo, Fiscal, Gistain, La Fueva, Labuerda, Laspuña, Palo, Plan, Puértolas, San Juan de Plan, Tella-Sin and Torla
